Jake is a Partner, and Right Path Advisor of Selectpath Benefits and Financial Inc. Jake's focus is working with mid to large sector employers with the design, implementation, and ongoing management of core group benefits and group retirement arrangements, compensation arrangements, and strategic human resources planning.
Since 1994, Jake has worked closely with over one hundred corporations in an advisory capacity. He has worked with both private and publicly owned companies, along with not-for-profit and government related sectors. He works on an ongoing basis with employers in union and non-union settings. Jake's past dealings have been broad amongst a wide range of industries from manufacturing and technology through professional and other service related industries. As a result, Jake has in depth experience and working knowledge of how many organizations operate, providing the ability to delineate how to recognize what drives organizational success and what undermines organizational efforts.
Jake is committed to the employee benefits industry through his active role within the industry as a teacher of employee benefits for Dalhousie University in association with the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) in London, ON. In addition, Jake is past-President of the board of directors for the Southwestern Ontario Chapter of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (ISCEBS). He is also a supporting member of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute (CPBI) and Advocis (The Financial Advisors Association of Canada).
Jake is an expert in all aspects of employee benefits and also has advanced accreditation tied to compensation and human resources. Beyond serving as President of FIRM Consulting Inc. and overseeing a growing client base, he has spoken for industry associations such as ISCEBS and nationally for the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). His presentations have also been published within the Employee Benefit industry.
