THE OPPORTUNITY

The Client Service Representative, Group Benefits provides administrative support to the Practice Advisor and clients of Selectpath. In this position, you will be responsible for handling client and Advisor inquiries and requests related to Group Benefits products

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build relationships with all clients in order to assist with general plan administration questions/concerns, resolving issues and follow up
  • Plan, organize and facilitate the preparation and completion of client renewals
  • Plan, organize and facilitate new plan implementations, plan amendments, carrier changes, and AOR’s
  • Liaise with carriers to help solve problems in an effective and efficient manner
  • Assist with administrative functions such as Advisor client correspondence, file maintenance, regular database updates and maintenance
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Completion of a Group Benefits Associate designation

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • College Diploma with a concentration in business
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ administrative and customer service experience in the Group Benefits industry
  • Advanced knowledge and application of MS suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Goldmine or other CRM systems is an asset
  • Customer service oriented, possess a professional and approachable demeanor and has the ability to handle conflicting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize in a fast work environment

POSITION SUMMARY:

Benefits Associate provides support to the Advisor and client of Selectpath. In this position, you will be responsible for handling client and Advisor inquiries and requests related to group benefits products.

 

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Long periods on a computer and navigation around different software programs
  • Interacts with carriers, clients, employees, and advisors
  • Diverse and complex work
  • Perform high-concentration tasks
  • Regular office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Overtime hours may be required

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and analyze plan pricing, design, administration
  • Plan, organize and facilitate the preparation and completion of client renewals
  • Provide recommendations to the advisor
  • Negotiate pricing with benefit carrier as required
  • Plan, organize and facilitate market studies, new plan implementations, plan amendments, carrier changes, and AOR’s
  • Participate in finalist meetings as required
  • Management of large client files
  • Provide accurate and thorough answers to client requests and questions
  • Communicate with carriers through client issues as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree or an acceptable combination of education and progressively responsible work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of benefits experience required
  • Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation preferred, or willing to obtain
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred, or willing to obtain
  • Ability to take initiative and a pro-active approach to work
  • Advanced knowledge and application of MS suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiastic, respectful, high professional and uncompromised confidentiality
  • Ability to organize, prioritize in a fast work environment
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset

POSITION SUMMARY

Selectpath offers unique Group Benefit, Financial and Human Resource products and advice. The VP of Business Development & Practice Management is responsible to work with advisors/consultants across the Selectpath organization to attain budgeted net revenue growth, capitalize on the cross-sell opportunity, and facilitate transitions of advisors and practices within the organization. This position reports to the CAO.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership/Financial Responsibilities

  • Leadership of the retention and revenue growth of the organization
  • Lead periodic advisor/consultant meetings to continuously move revenue growth goals forward
  • Inspire, guide, and communicate directly with both the management team and employees consistently
  • Exhibit a leadership style that fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, accountability and collaboration
  • Establish, implement, and lead an effective cross sell strategy between all lines of business under the Selectpath banner (and affiliated companies)
  • Lead annual planning and oversee performance with advisors/consultants
  • Prepare annual/quarterly/and monthly business and financial updates for management including management team meeting materials.

Business Operations Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage practice processes consistent with strategic vision and objectives of the company
  • Ensure that Selectpath’s CRM system is maximized to provide line of sight on opportunities and success ratios
  • Lead the client experience through our sales process and operational best practices
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Administration, Director of Operations, VP of Financial Services, and VP of Group Benefits to execute organizational initiatives to growing revenue.
  • Strategically identify problems/threats, analyzing risks and assessing outcomes related to potential solutions
  • Evaluate and act of overall sales for quality control
  • Facilitate compliance with regulations and risk management
  • Participate in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range advisor/consultant plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives
  • Lead recruitment of new advisors to the organization
  • Work in partnership with Navacord Director of Sales as well as MarshBerry resources

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Economics preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience at leadership/senior management level
  • Understand how products and services impact client needs and develop processes to improve quality
  • Proven track record of sales success including establishing practices and processes
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of how products and services impact customer needs and develop processes to improve quality
  • Strong initiative, leadership and strategic thinking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and with all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills required to affect change and to build effective working relationship
  • Ability to be a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word

POSITION SUMMARY:

Junior Group Benefits Advisors provides support to the Practice Manager and clients of Selectpath. The role is to partner with business owners and plan administrators to help them manage their group benefits plan. With a focus on maintaining existing clients, this position is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development:

  • Prepare and execute business plan including client acquisition, premium and commission targets and action/activity plans to achieve same
  • Identify, qualify and contact prospective clients to communicate value proposition of Selectpath
  • Coordinate with Selectpath resources (senior advisors, analysts, CSR’s, etc) to prepare review/proposal for prospective clients
  • Present Selectpath findings/recommendations to prospective clients with appropriate resources

Renewals:

  • Research and understand market trends and pricing
  • Review and analyze plan pricing, design, administration
  • Identify gaps and/or liabilities in benefit plan coverage
  • Provide recommendations to the client
  • Negotiate pricing with benefit carrier as required
  • Meet with client and present any changes to the benefit plan
  • Conduct full market review as needed to ensure clients are receiving optimal benefits plan

Servicing:

  • Understand client business and industry
  • Provide accurate and thorough answers to client requests and questions
  • Work with clients through organizational changes, acquisitions, mergers, etc.
  • Communicate with carriers through client issues as required
  • Provide employee education sessions to clients on their company benefits plan

Corporate Administration:

  • Provide status updates to Practice Manager as required
  • Participate in various office functions and represent the company at public functions as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) required, specializations in business, finance preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience required in client service role, preferably in a benefits administration role
  • Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation preferred, or willing to obtain
  • Life Insurance Agent License preferred
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred, or willing to obtain
